Job Summary

Responsible for the assessment of education needs and curriculum development including orientation and accreditation readiness and the identification and coordination of safety improvement for the home care facilities.

Essential Functions

  • Conducts educational needs assessments, develops, implements, and evaluates curriculum to address identified needs.
  • Develops curriculum for orientation of new staff for all home care entities.
  • Leads continuous safety efforts including the development, evaluation, and revision of the Division Emergency Management Plan. Participates in enterprise safety activities.
  • Supports local and corporate continuous accreditation readiness and safety efforts.
  • Maintains a close working relationship with facility leadership to optimize the quality and patient and staff safety culture.
  • Supports constant state of readiness for accreditation reviews. Assists with the coordination of and participates in the annual review, analysis and development of the Performance Improvement Plan.
  • Coordinates policy and procedure meetings and maintains manuals.
  • Assists leadership in defining key performance indicators and developing measurement tools to evaluate quality improvements; coordinates safety culture assessment efforts.
  • Conducts leading practice research and makes recommendations for implementation.
  • Provides education and training on accreditation matters.

Physical Requirements

Must have the ability to clearly communicate verbally, in person, and in writing with patients, families/agencies and the health care team. Must possess a strong sense of urgency and make sound decisions within limited time elements, carries out responsibilities in a professional manner at all times, as well as possesses ability to work cooperatively and effectively with other staff on an individual and team basis. Works in an office environment; requires walking, standing and long periods of sitting and computer use. Intact sense of sight and hearing required. Travels to facilities in personal vehicle as needed.

Education, Experience and Certifications

Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred. RN licensure required. Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider status according to American Heart Association. Must maintain current state driver's license and auto insurance at all times.
