Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the CVICU Pediatrics team. This role involves delivering high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients with a range of cardiovascular health conditions, from simple to complex. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing patient-centered care in a hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities- Manage an assigned group of pediatric patients, ensuring competent and compassionate care.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments, noting changes in physician orders.
- Assist physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
- Monitor physiological data, observe patient conditions, and intervene when necessary.
- Administer prescribed medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products.
- Communicate care plans effectively with patients and their families, ensuring understanding of hospital procedures and discharge instructions.
- Make referrals to appropriate personnel based on patient care needs.
- Delegate tasks appropriately to support staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
- At least one year of nursing experience.
- Strong knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, and procedures.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a Board-approved program.
- Demonstrated ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
Certifications- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support, American Heart Association).
- RN License (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact).
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Association).
