Position Description: Diagnosing and treating human responses to actual or potential health problems through such services as case finding, health teaching, health counseling and provision of care supportive to or restorative of life and well-being. Execution of the medical regimens prescribed by a licensed physician or dentist authorized to practice at Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital.Experience: One (1) years' emergency department/telemetry/critical care experience required. Two (2) years' emergency department/telemetry/critical care experience preferred. One (1) year Trauma Nurse Core Course experience preferred. Has demonstrated competence as a nurse. Has demonstrated a commitment to continued professional development.Qualifications: Licensed and currently registered in New York State as a professional nurse. Bachelor's in Nursing preferred. Basic Life Support ( BLS ), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support ( ACLS ) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS ) required. Telemetry/Critical Care mandatory. Trauma Nurse Core Course ( TNCC ) preferred.Physical Demands: Must be able to lift or assist in lifting a client from bed to chair to standing or vice versa. Must be able to respond quickly and effectively communicate orally in an emergent situation. Must be able to use stairs in an emergent situation. Must be able to walk, carry semi-heavy equipment and reach overhead. Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with clients or associates.**Sign-On Bonus**

· Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Southampton's Employee Health Services*
· Successfully complete a 4-panel drug screen*
· Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
· Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.
