Job Summary and Qualifications

The Staff RN assigned to the Free-Standing Emergency Department cares for patients including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for assigned patient
  • Responsible for meeting the Standards of Practice for the Emergency Department and managing all assigned personnel, supplies and equipment
  • Participates in activities to plan, measure, assess and improve the quality of patient care.
  • Routinely provides triage assessment for patients presenting for treatment.
  • Routinely performs venipunctures for obtaining specimens for lab tests.
  • Routinely provides intervention in emergency, life-threatening situations.
  • Assumes the responsibility of charging the department, as needed
What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing
  • 1+ year of Emergency Room or Critical Care experience
  • Current Texas licensure with the State Board of Nurse Examiners
  • Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required
  • EKG Certification or successful challenge of EKG Exam.
  • ACLS and PALS certification within six months of employment.
  • TNCC certification required within 18 months of employment
  • CEN certification encouraged
  • NIHSS certification within 6 months of hire
