Responsibilities
The RN First Assistant (RNFA) to the surgeon during a surgical procedure, carries out functions that will assist the surgeon in performing a safe operation with optimal results for the infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient. The intra-operative practice of the RN First Assistant is interdependent with the operating surgeon and functions in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and AORN standards.
Qualifications
