The Vermont Veterans' Home (VVH) is a skilled nursing facility seeking compassionate and motivated Registered Nurses to join our team in providing care to our veterans and members with the dignity and respect that they so rightfully deserve.

Our mission: The Vermont Veterans' Home provides best of class healthcare services to Veterans, their spouses and gold star parents while honoring their choices and respecting their right of self-determination.

Our Registered Nurses (RN) develop and manage nursing care plans, as well as instruct patients and their families in proper treatment for the highest level of function/quality of life. We provide person-centered care and all residents/families are encouraged to be active participants. We provide clinical oversight along with a wide range of services for long-term and short-stay admissions.

We are recruiting for Evening & Night shifts. Shift differentials, as applicable, will apply to hours worked on weekends, evenings and nights.

Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position, including Vermont and national criminal record checks, adult and child abuse registry checks, the Office of Inspector General exclusion database, and motor vehicle driving record checks where applicable.

Environmental Factors

Duties primarily performed in a clinical setting. Work may require travel off-site. Exposure to communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, potentially physically and verbally violent patient population and other stressful situations may occur. May be required to work evenings, nights, weekends and extended shifts as the need arises.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of (or eligible for) licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license.

OR

College senior in the final semester of an accredited school of nursing program. Graduation from the program must occur prior to hire and continued employment will be contingent on the employee passing the Nursing Licensure Exam (NCLEX).

Special Requirements

Overtime work is required to maintain minimum staffing levels and for unannounced regulatory inspections and is considered a condition of employment. The ability to work overtime when required is an essential function of this job class. Must maintain Vermont licensure as a Registered Nurse as a condition of employment.
