We have a current opportunity for a Inpatient Psychiatry Registered Nurse on a contract basis. The position will be based in Ogdensburg. For further information about this position please apply.
Shifts they are hiring for:1 RN - 11:15am-11:30pm - full time 3 shifts/week and rotating weekends (Saturday and Sunday) 1 RN - 7pm-7:30am - full time 3 shifts/week and rotating weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
Duties of RNs are not limited to the following:
- Provide general nursing care in a behavioral health setting
- Assessing the patients' physical needs
- Checking and transcribing physicians' orders in a timely manner
- Medication administration
- Admission, Discharge, and Transfer of patients based on physician orders
- Assisting with procedures and physical exams
- Conducting checks of treatment rooms for required equipment and ensuring its functionality
- Recording appropriate progress notes and other data into the patients' medical record
- Supervising non-professional nursing staff
- Collecting vital sign, drawing blood, etc.
Requirements
- License and current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse in NYS
- Current BLS CPR Card through American Heart Association (AHA)
- 1 year of clinical experience
Preferred
- Preferred qualification: Minimum one year of experience working in a Behavioral Health setting
- Preferred qualification: Degree in nursing or in one of the following preferred Human Services fields: Counseling; Community Mental Health, Psychology, Recreation Therapy, Rehab, and Social Work
