A Long Island-based healthcare organization is looking to boost their Internal Medicine staff at one of their facilities in Nassau County with the addition of a new, licensed Registered Nurse (RN). Responsibilities: The Registered Nurse (RN) - Internal Medicine will: Provide clinical supervision to the Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Medical Assistants (MAs) on the Care Team Assist with applicant screening, selection, training, providing feedback for performance evaluations, and providing information related to employee discipline and termination of staff Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and per orders Plan, articulate, and coordinate care and interventions Review patient charts for missing labs, reports, and/or open orders and reviews as part of care team huddles Prepare equipment and aid the Physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients Verify chief complaint and take vital signs as requested Review the Electronic Health Record (EHR) active medication list with patients Coordinate outpatient work-up and or treatment plans when patient situation requires itContact patients with test results and provide recommendations on cases per Physician determination and/or standards of care Triage urgent same day or double booked appointment requests Document progress notes in electronic health record within 24 hours Manage in-basket requests and responds to all requests in a timely manner Perform other job-related duties, as required Qualifications: 1+ year of Nursing experience in an Ambulatory and/or Hospital setting Graduate of an accredited School of NursingNYS Registered Nurse (RN) license BLS certification Knowledge of common Safety hazards and precautions to establish/maintain a safe work environmentKnowledge of policies and procedures related to Infection Control, Environmental Safety, and Patient Confidentiality Knowledge of Medical Chart Reporting Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills Patient oriented Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Highly organized Desired Skills: Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Nursing Cardiology background
