$5000 Sign-On Bonus!

Salary: $90,000-$95,000

The RoleAs a Registered Nurse (RN), you will play a critical role in assisting families affected by substance use disorders, particularly those involving infants born with prenatal substance exposure or withdrawal symptoms. You will collaborate with Child Protective Services (CPS) and the Westchester County Department of Social Services to develop and monitor Plans of Safe Care for these infants and their families. Your expertise will ensure that these vulnerable clients receive the necessary care and support in line with established nursing care plans, agency policies, and standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care, including comprehensive assessments and nursing intakes.
  • Identify and support families with substance-exposed infants, ensuring early referral and intervention.
  • Educate clients on health and substance use, monitor their progress, and participate in treatment planning.
  • Accompany CPS caseworkers on community visits to offer direct consultation and support for families needing substance use services.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor safe care plans for infants affected by prenatal substance exposure.
  • Administer screening tools to assess substance use, mental health, and postpartum needs, documenting assessments to aid the CPS process.
  • Offer maternal-child health services and education to families, providing case management and support for up to 60 days.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • Active NYS RN licensure
  • BLS certification
  • 1-3 years of experience working as an RN, preferably with clients affected by Substance Use Disorder (SUD) or Serious Mental Illness (SMI)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Experience working with diverse populations and individuals from various backgrounds
