The purpose of Campus Health (CH) is to provide appropriate, affordable, accessible and high quality primary health care to eligible students, and provide a comprehensive disease-prevention and health promotion program in the NC State University community. The major function of the SHS is that of providing outpatient care to the 34,000+ NC State students. Some level of medical care is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the academic year beginning in August and ending in May. Hours of service vary during the summer and during holidays and student breaks.

Essential Job Duties
The Campus Health 12 month Professional Nurse rotates to the Medical Clinic, Treatment Clinic Services, Centennial Campus or Gynecology Services and is responsible for assessing patients, implementing treatment plans , and evaluating the patient's response to treatment and care.
Duties include but are not limited to:
* Administering IV fluid
* Administering immunizations in compliance with state and university regulations.
* Working independently utilizing standing orders
* Assisting providers with procedures
* Triaging patients
* Documenting accurately in the electronic health record.
* Performing wound care
* The position requires the ability to lift up to 35 pounds, stand for long periods of time, and bend to perform duties standard in providing health care.
Other Responsibilities
* Assists with physical exams and administers medications.
* Participates in Quality Improvement activities.
* Participates in fire, code blue, and emergency preparedness drills.
* Must report to work during Adverse Weather, related scenarios and public health emergencies.
* Manages ordering supplies for Campus Health, maintaining par levels.
* Manages safety programs including training, onboarding requirements and occupational injury/illness investigation, follow-up and reporting.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Experience/Education
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
Other Required Qualifications
* Current experience in patient teaching, wound care, administering injections, IV therapy, triaging for referral to higher level of care, documentation in an electronic health record, and collaborating with other team members to optimize patient flow in the clinics.
* Appreciation of needs of the college age population and cultural competence in caring for the patients served.
* Exposure control training for blood, body secretions and communicable diseases.
* HIPAA training
Preferred Qualifications
* Current clinical nursing experience in Primary Care, Campus Health, Urgent Care or Acute Care Setting
Required License or Certification
* A current license to practice as a registered nurse in NC by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
* CPR Certification Required
