Position Summary The REGISTERED NURSE (RN) delivers care to residents ensuring all applicable laws, regulations and Company standards are met.
Essential Functions - Knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in a long-term care facility.
- Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel.
- Plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Wellness department.
- Evaluate resident's needs through ongoing assessment and revises care plan based on changes in resident's condition.
- Provide clinical supervision to LPN's, CNAs and/or Personal Care Aides.
- Chart appropriately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team.
- Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in residents' conditions, including diet and physical activity.
- Interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess resident's condition.
- Instruct individuals, families on topics such as health education, disease prevention, and develop health improvement programs.
- Prepare residents for, and assist with, examinations and treatments.
- Have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
- Help with all aspects and document requirements of the community QA program including monthly audits of resident wellness instructions for accuracy and implementation.
Qualifications - Possess a nursing diploma, AS or BS degree in nursing.
- Six months to one year of related experience.
- Must be currently registered/licensed with applicable state.
- Current valid documentation of successful completion of the American Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR/First Aid Certification for Health Care Providers (BLS).
- Must possess a valid driver's license as some travel may be required.
- Meet all health requirements including TB including all required immunizations.
