Liberty Resources has an immediate opening for a Registered Nurse (RN) Developmental Disabilities Division. We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) who will function as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team in assisting with a full range of nursing/medical services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and staff. The RN will perform tasks and responsibilities within the framework of case finding, health teaching and counseling and provision of supportive and restorative care. RN Job Functions

  • Evaluates and interprets individuals' assessments, physical, and diagnostic tests with individuals and staff; monitors monthly weights and nutritional status of individuals. Monitors follow-up care.
  • Provides medical crisis intervention/counseling by direct visitation or telephone contact.
  • Completes evaluations, medication reviews, and care plans, and notes. Provides education and training to individuals and staff in health-related topics. Instructs staff and individuals regarding preventative health care and other health-related issues as needed.
  • Supervises, conducts, and documents staff medication administration training. Performs responsibilities related to OPWDD certification/recertification of medication training and follow up for staff.
  • Advocates for the provision of community-based health services for each individual; participates in obtaining appropriate community-based health services for individuals.
  • Participates in preparation of any medical related goals.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse from an accredited college or school of nursing.
  • One year experience as an RN, preferably working with people who are developmentally disabled.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, aptitude and ability to work with the ID/DD population.
  • Some programs may require the ability to lift, transfer or physically assist individuals. Must be able to lift objects up to 20lbs.
