Job Description: Job DetailsJob LocationWaterbury, CTPosition TypePart TimeSalary Range$35.00 - $40.00Job ShiftAnyDescription DEPARTMENT : Women & Children's ProgramGeneral Statement Of ResponsibilitiesThe Women & Children's Program Nurse provides for the healthcare needs for individuals and their children that are residing in this residential setting and is part of a multi- disciplinary team that assists our clients to achieve their recovery and parenting goals. The Nurse oversees the program practice of administering medications (including documentation of such) and administers medication when present. The Nurse provides oversight regarding all applicable licensing and health standards, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.The Nurse collaborates with the Wellmore, Inc. multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate and timely review of all medical policy and procedures, and availability of all medical supplies needed for client in the program. They are responsible for coordinating all medical care with community providers and to ensure the medical/health/dental needs of residents are appropriately addressed. SUPERVISION : Supervised by: Program Manager of Women & Children inExamples Of Responsibilities Supervises clients throughout the shift to ensure client safety. Including client counts, supervised activities, and client down time. Support clients in completing their activities of daily living (ADLs) for themselves and their child . Collaborates with the Medical Director to ensure all medication orders are current, medication supplies are adequate, discharge prescriptions are written, medications are dispensed for self-administration and to ensure a schedule of medication evaluations are maintained. Assist the Program Manager in ensuring client's medication and medication room policies and protocols are followed by all staff. Support with training Technicians in the Self- Admission of Medication process. Collaborates with the Service Coordinator in reviewing all referrals to ensure biomedical conditions can be safety managed in this 3.5 ASAM level of care. Assist with engaging individuals in Medication- Assisted Treatment or Withdrawal Management services as appropriate. Complete Nursing assessment and appropriate documentation for each incoming client as part of the intake process. Submit referrals and assist with engagement to any services identified. Work with individuals engaged in the program to ensure they are engaged in OBGYN and Primary Care services and that their child is engaged with Pediatric services. Assist with scheduling of appointments and ensure attendance. May be required to accompany client and child if appropriate for their treatment plan. Facilitating Psycho-Educational group sessions. Topics to help clients achieve their treatment plan and wellness goals for themselves and their children. Complete Supervised Drug Screens, utilizing a trauma informed approach. Documentation of these screens, review of lab results and communicate concerns to the clinical and medical team. Participate in supervision, team meetings, agency committees and work groups as assigned by management. May be required to participate in trainings (both on site and off site) as determined by the Director of Residential Services and/or Vice President of Adult Services. Complete other duties as assigned. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must demonstrate an ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule to ensure staffing level expectations are always met. Must be able to work mandated shifts due to staff shortage, weather, or emergent events. Must be able to travel to other locations/offices as needed and scheduled.Education And ExperienceRN from an accredited school of nursing. Knowledge of applicable standards and regulations. Prior experience in treatment of pregnancy and/or substance use, and co-occurring disorders is preferred. Certified as Medication Administration Instructor and CPR/1st Aid Instructor preferred. Must have knowledge of diverse cultural groups and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.Training preferred on the following topics; Treatment Criteria for Addictive, Substance-Related, and Co-Occurring Conditions (ASAM), Co-occurring disorders, including prevalence, signs/symptoms, assessment, treatment and the impact of one's own attitudes/beliefs on the delivery of services and the use of naloxone in response to an opioid overdose.
