JOB SUMMARYResponsible for providing clinical care to chemically dependent individuals. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assessment of clients for admission to the stabilization service.
- Obtain and transcribe orders from Medical Doctor and/or Nurse Practitioner.
- Transcribe, administer and assist with refill of medication.
- Provide medication education.
- Monitor withdrawal process and/or medical condition of clients.
- Assist with a transfer of any client needing medical evaluation or higher level of care at the local hospital.
- Initiate and follow all medical and/or psychiatric emergency procedure in situations that requiring assessment, attention and/or care.
- Document or period review of documentation e.g progress notes, incidents, admission and discharge reports per NYS OASAS regulations.
- Provide direct supervision of staff performance to ensure workflow and scope of practice.
- Assist with orientation of new nursing staff.
- Conduct or supervise Health Education groups.
- Participate in daily inter-disciplinary Treatment Team meeting.
- Participate in Quality Management meetings as needed.
- Abide by all Mission, program and safety policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Attend and participate in meetings and trainings as requested by supervisor.
- Mandatory annual trainings.
- All other duties as requested by your supervisor.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current RN licensing and registration from the NYS Education Department. Maintains all required credentials.
- (1) year management and supervisory experience preferred
- (1) year of experience working with substance abuse populations preferred
- Must obtain CPR certification within 90 days of hire and maintain current certification throughout period of employment.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Clean/valid NYS Driver's License
