JOB SUMMARY:
Collaborates with the health care team using evidence basedpractice, demonstrating accountability, respect for patients, families andcoworkers, while providing safe and optimal patient outcomes. Promotes continuity of care by communicating effectivelywith interdisciplinary team and family as appropriate. Directs the work of thesupport staff in the provision of care. Performs general nursing duties using critical thinking skills withminimal supervision. Able to work withthe age specific populations according to the setting.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
v Graduate of an accredited RN program;BSN preferred.
v Current Registration and Licensure inthe State of Iowa as an RN. Must be ingood standing with the Board of Nursing.
v CurrentAmerican Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required. New employeescertify within three (3) months after hire date.
v CurrentACLS, NRP and STABLE certifications. (New employees should obtain perguidelines of the Education Course Requirements policy.)
v Ability to read and communicateeffectively in English.
v High degree of empathetic listeningskills, tact and kindness toward others.
v Ability to communicate wellverbally. Must work effectively as amember of a team.
v Basic computer knowledge
v Technical and critical thinking skillsin relation to sound nursing judgment.
