Job Summary: As a Registered Nurse in our Medical Surgery Unit with telemetry experience, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients. You will collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, including physicians, surgeons, and other nursing staff, to provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing medical and surgical procedures.Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care: Provide compassionate and evidence-based nursing care to patients in the Medical Surgery Unit, with a focus on those requiring telemetry monitoring.Telemetry Monitoring: Utilize telemetry equipment to continuously monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, identifying any abnormalities and taking prompt action when necessary.Assessment and Documentation: Conduct thorough patient assessments, document patient information accurately, and maintain up-to-date medical records. Report changes in patient condition to the healthcare team.Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring proper dosage, route, and patient education.Collaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans, including physicians, surgeons, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on medical conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care plans to promote optimal health outcomes.Safety and Infection Control: Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean patient care environment.Emergency Response: Respond effectively to emergencies, including code situations, by following established protocols and providing appropriate nursing care.Professional Development: Stay current with advances in nursing practice, attend continuing education programs, and actively participate in departmental meetings and training.Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
