Job Description: A well-known hospital in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). About the Opportunity:Assignment Length: 13-weeksSchedule: 3 shifts per week and rotating weekendsHours: 7:30am to 8pm or 7:30pm to 8amSetting: Acute Care HospitalDepartment: Medical-Surgical ICUEMR: EPIC Responsibilities:Caring for patients with life-threatening illnesses or injuries in an intensive care unit (ICU)Monitoring patients' vital signs and the condition of life support equipmentAdministering medications, starting IVs, and performing other interventionsCommunicating with patients and their families, providing updates, and advocating for the patientResponding to medical emergencies and calling the doctor when neededAssessing patients and identifying changes in their conditionProviding resources for patient recovery, such as physical therapy or other rehab servicesMaintaining patients' chartsUsing complex medical equipment and properly using PPE and other protective equipmentWorking well in a team environment with physicians, specialists, aides, and other medical professionals Qualifications:2+ years of Critical Care experienceActive New York State Registered Nurse LicenseACLS and BLS certificationsIV Insertion, Phlebotomy and Conscious Sedation skills
