Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Medical Surgical - Cardiac Progressive Care Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48-hour contract options Experience: Minimum 2 Years Required License: WV/Compact RN License required - Pending license acceptable Certifications: - BLS Required- MAB Preferred- ACLS, PALS certifications must be via American Heart Association Must-Have: - Experience with IV Start, Telemetry, PCU/IMC Job Description: - Provide care for pre/post-operative surgical cardiovascular patients and medical cardiac patients who require progressive care/monitoring.- Care for vascular patients, amputations, and detox patients.- Work with a patient ratio of 1:5.- Required to float within the scope to meet facility needs.- Perform special procedures such as Ostomies, Chest Tubes, Wound Vacs/Care, CPAP/BiPAP, Central Lines, PICCs, and Drips (e.g., Heparin, Amnio, Cardizem, Cardiac Drips).- Open to accommodating blocked schedule requests.- Comply with the 100-mile radius rule; case-by-case facility exceptions/approval for those between 75-99 miles.- Mandatory flu shot unless medically exempt during flu season (October 1st - March 31st).- Orientation provided, comprising 16 hours including modules.- Orientation held every other week on Thursday.- Modules completed prior to the start included in the orientation hours.- Facility is a short-term acute care, Level IV Trauma Center, and major teaching hospital; a member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems.- Royal Blue/White scrubs for RNs.- Charting: Cerner.
