Job Summary The Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical is responsible for direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation under the supervision of the Nurse Manager. This role involves coordinating care for patients and families across the healthcare continuum, ensuring care aligns with established agency policies, procedures, and standards of practice. The RN is accountable for clinical, educational, quality, and fiscal outcomes in patient care and reports directly to the unit Nurse Manager.
Key Responsibilities - Provide direct patient care, including nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Coordinate care for patients and families across the healthcare continuum.
- Ensure accountability for clinical, educational, quality, and fiscal patient care outcomes.
- Follow the nursing department's model of care in line with agency policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
- Organize and prioritize tasks to efficiently complete assignments.
Required Qualifications - Graduate from an accredited nursing program with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 24 months of experience as a Med Surg/Telemetry RN in a hospital setting
- Basic computer proficiency for accessing, entering, and interpreting data
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills for prioritizing tasks
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Certifications - Active RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Education: Bachelors Degree
