Job Description The mission of the Nursing Department is to deliver comprehensive, compassionate, and quality patient care. The mission is consistent with the hospital's mission, which is to deliver a wide variety of community oriented health services/programs. Some duties include:
- Responsible for the administration of nursing care and distribution of methadone to all patients in the program.
- Schedules and assigns nursing services to insure coverage of unit by registered nurses
- Administers medication to patients this includes methadone, Suboxone, and Subutex.
- Documents missed doses and refer clients for physician assessment when needed.
- Verify with the client what their dose of methadone is and compare it to the dose on the container as they are verifying the client's identity.
- l work with the Nurse Practitioner, Medical Director, and Clinical Program Administrator to assure appropriate medical care of patients.
Requirements Qualifications:
Education Required:A graduate of an accredited School of Nursing License(s) Required:Licensed to practice Professional Nursing in New York State. Experience/Skills: One year Med-Surg experienced required Experience in assigned area preferred. Successful completion of St. Barnabas Hospital Orientation Program. Mental and physical health to meet the demands of the position.
