MOTHER BABY /POST PARTUMF/T NIGHT 7:00 PM - 7:30 AMJamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 404-bed fully accredited community-based teaching hospital and Level I Trauma and Stroke Center. We provide general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory care on and off campus, ambulatory surgery and a broad spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services. We are currently seeking experienced Mother Baby /Post-Partum Nurses for immediate full-time night shift opportunities. Selected candidates will provide quality healthcare to mothers and newborns. DUTIES
- Conducting breastfeeding education, and health teaching related to the developing family unit
- Administering vaccinations and performing routine tests on newborns.
- Monitoring and performing thorough assessments of high and low risk mothers and newborns after delivery to ascertain proper healing and recovery.
- Educating new parents on how to properly care for infants, instructing parents on general newborn care, and feeding techniques for breastfeeding and bottle-feeding mothers.
- Working collaboratively with interdisciplinary team to manage women and newborns with complex medical conditions in the postpartum period to ensure healthy outcomes.
- Providing postpartum couplet care to both the parents and the infant,
- Educating expecting mothers about proper pre-, and post-natal care and the birthing process through therapeutic communications
- Utilizing EPIC EMR system to prepare timely and accurate electronic medical documentation.

Requirements - Must be a graduate of an Accredited BSN Nursing Program
- NY State RN License required
- Minimum 1-2 years recent relevant Mother Baby / Labor and Delivery experience preferred. But we will also consider motivated new RN grads.
- BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program
