Job Description:
Schedule: Full Time, Day/Evening/Night with weekend and holiday requirementsAre you an experienced Registered Nurse interested in a fulfilling nursing career at UR Medicine Thompson Health? Consider joining our observation unit with a dynamic and thoughtful leader! The Observation unit RN will provide care to patients who require close monitoring and short-term care often due to acute conditions that don't necessitate full inpatient admission but do need more than an Emergency Room stay. Job responsibilities:
  • Assessment of patients to monitor for changes in patients' condition
  • Treatment and medication administration
  • Documentation of patient status and response to treatment
  • Education of patient and family on treatment plan, discharge instructions and care protocols related to their condition
  • Coordination of Care with physicians, case managers and other members of the health care team to ensure a safe discharge or full admission to the hospital
Requirements:
  • Graduate of approved school of nursing
  • BSN or working towards a BSN or professional certification with in one year of employment preferred.
  • NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • 2 to 5 years of medical-surgical nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred
  • Current BLS required, ACLS preferred
  • Good Communication skills and skilled in customer service
  • Reliability and flexibility
  • Demonstrates the CARES Values at all times.
