The Observation unit RN will provide care to patients who require close monitoring and short-term care often due to acute conditions that don't necessitate full inpatient admission but do need more than an Emergency Room stay. Job responsibilities:
- Assessment of patients to monitor for changes in patients' condition
- Treatment and medication administration
- Documentation of patient status and response to treatment
- Education of patient and family on treatment plan, discharge instructions and care protocols related to their condition
- Coordination of Care with physicians, case managers and other members of the health care team to ensure a safe discharge or full admission to the hospital
Requirements:
- Graduate of approved school of nursing
- BSN or working towards a BSN or professional certification with in one year of employment preferred.
- NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse
- 2 to 5 years of medical-surgical nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred
- Current BLS required, ACLS preferred
- Good Communication skills and skilled in customer service
- Reliability and flexibility
- Demonstrates the CARES Values at all times.
