The Observation unit RN will provide care to patients who require close monitoring and short-term care often due to acute conditions that don't necessitate full inpatient admission but do need more than an Emergency Room stay.Job responsibilities:* Assessment of patients to monitor for changes in patients' condition* Treatment and medication administration* Documentation of patient status and response to treatment* Education of patient and family on treatment plan, discharge instructions and care protocols related to their condition* Coordination of Care with physicians, case managers and other members of the health care team to ensure a safe discharge or full admission to the hospitalRequirements:* Graduate of approved school of nursing* BSN or working towards a BSN or professional certification with in one year of employment preferred.* NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse* 2 to 5 years of medical-surgical nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred* Current BLS required, ACLS preferred* Good Communication skills and skilled in customer service* Reliability and flexibility* Demonstrates the CARES Values at all times.Position Pay Range: $37.00-50.00/hourStarting Pay: Based on experienceThompson Health is an EOE encouraging women, minorities, individuals with disabilities and veterans to apply
