A Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at Cleveland Clinic Martin North circulates a large variety of surgical cases in the 8-suite Operating Room Department, including general, thoracic, robotics, and cardiovascular, following established standards, department guidelines and hospital policies and procedures. The opportunity to be trained as a scrub nurse is available. The RN will use their strong assessment and critical thinking skills to collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team in order to provide the best outcomes for each patient. This role plays an integral part in ensuring patient advocacy and safety. The hours of this per diem position are primarily 12-hour day shifts, 6:30am to 7pm, with overnight and weekend on-call requirements. A minimum of 48 hours per six-week schedule is required. Required qualifications for the ideal candidate include:A MINIMUM OF ONE YEAR OF RN EXPERIENCE IN AN OPERATING ROOM IS REQUIRED.Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN preferred.Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN).Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) must be presented upon hire.Can communicate effectively with patients and team members. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.Can critically think and problem-solve for patients' best interestsCan provide emotional, spiritual, and psychological support to patients.
