This role requires assuring competent, compassionate, and cost-effective patient care from admission to discharge. Responsibilities include assuring the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients. The RN will perform disease prevention and restorative measures. Responding to medical and environmental emergencies is part of the role. The nurse must apply the principles of the nursing process while adhering to the policies and procedures of the Patient Care Services. On-call shifts and weekends may be required as needed. Modules are completed during orientation. Module hours vary by specialty and are recorded through e-learning as part of the orientation. Orientation includes 16 non-billable hours.
