Job Description:

A health services agency on Long Island is looking to add a new, licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing Pediatric OPWDD team at one of their residential facilities in Suffolk County. About the Opportunity:

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 7:30am to 4pm
  • Setting: Residential Facility
  • Patient Population: OPWDD
  • Patient Population: 20 child caseload
Responsibilities: The Registered Nurse (RN) will:
  • Serve as medical Liaison for IDT team and ensure proper medical follow-up
  • Asses injuries/accidents to ensure individuals receive proper medical care
  • Develop written plans for each person; modify nursing plan, as necessary
  • Maintain medical records for each individual
  • Participate as appropriate in planning and implementation of training of personnel
  • Ensure proper medical follow-up through an on-call system
  • Ensure all medication is administered and stored, as necessary
  • Prepare monthly Medical Administration Records
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Solid assessment, clinical and documentation skills
  • Patient oriented
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
Desired Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • OPWDD background
