A health services organization in New York City is looking to add a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to one of their group homes in Queens. About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Setting: Group Home
- Assignment Length: Ongoing
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm (35 hours per week)
- Patient Population: Medically underserved
- Patient Volume: 10 to 12 patients
- EMR: PrecisonCare
Responsibilities: The Registered Nurse (RN) will:
- Coordinate annual and routine medical services to ensure all healthcare records are up to date and include all regulations as mandated by OPWDD
- Supervise AMAP staff in aspects of medication administration and documentation
- Be on call 24 hours a day to provide phone triage for consultation on all medical needs of the individuals served
- Serve as a liaison to both the families and the residential staff regarding their medical concerns regarding individual residents
- Provide in-service training to the residential staff
- Participate in the Program Planning Team process
- Complete all written reports and documentation on a timely basis so that all agency, state and federal regulations are maintained residential compliance
- Report all incidents, including allegations of abuse and neglect and serious reportable incidents, to management immediately upon discovery
- Perform all other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of Nursing experience
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Patient oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Prior Nursing experience and/or experience working with persons with Developmental Disabilities
