Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for PAT/PRE-OP/PACU

Minimum Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• ACLS and PAL Required
• Current nursing license, in good standing with the State licensing board
• 0-1 Years' Experience as a PACU LVN
• Cognitive skills as related to the position

This position handles inbound pre-operative patients to ensure patients receive quality pre-operative screening for our surgical procedures and Post anesthetic care patients emerging from the haze of anesthesia. There are several tasks a PACU nurse needs to perform in a post-operative unit such as guiding patients to consciousness and assisting them in handling personal needs in the first few hours after surgery.Position Responsibilities

Pre-admissions Testing Nurse Duties:

• Completes required orientation as directed by facility
• Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment
• Follows facility Unusual Occurrence Protocol
• Respects cultural and religious practices of patients
• Upholds HIPAA regulations
• Punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts

Preoperative Duties of PACU Nurse:

· Manage patients' admission processes to preoperative department in a hospital

· Assess the status of patients' health in pre-op and ensure accuracy of identification wristband

· Ensure that operative and informed consents are in order

· Determine the surgeon and procedure being carried out

· Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure
