The role of the professional Registered Nurse (RN) reflects the values and priorities of the nursing profession. The RN is a proactive member of the multidisciplinary team that provides patient care. The RN recognizes that the role requires both clinical knowledge and the ability to provide comfort.

POSITION SUMMARY:

To provide professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process and maintaining compliance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act. The provision of this care is to be conducted in a collaborative manner with all members of the healthcare team in order to deliver quality care and the best possible patient outcome.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential core function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, experience, and ability necessary to perform this job.

ESSENTIAL CORE FUNCTIONS OF THE REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL NURSE:

· Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation

B. Job Specific: As defined by the unit specific standards as outlined in the orientation policy based on the area of practice

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:

    • Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma from an accredited institution required.
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

    LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

    • Current FL RN license required or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held in another state, active FL RN compact license required within 90 days of hire. Advanced Nurse Practitioner license acceptable

    · American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification required within 30 days*

This includes advanced cardiac assessment and treatment. We offer certified women's services. Our hospital has dedicated spaces for adult and pediatric emergency services. We are certified in Advanced Primary Stroke Care. Our hospital is accredited as a Comprehensive Breast Care Center. We are the area's only Accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and Resuscitation. Other services that we offer include orthopedic care and joint replacement, robotic surgery, cardiac, vascular, and interventional services. We are home to the only Pediatric ER in the community.
