JOB DESCRIPTIONResponsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementationand evaluation. Responsible for directing, coordinating all nursing care based on established clinical nursing practices.Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCommunicates effectively. Establishes and maintains two way communication with peers, staff, physicians and administration.Adapts to change in a positive, professional manner.Follows through on problems that may compromise patient care by using the appropriate chain of command.Cooperates well with peers and supports group decisions.Communicates appropriate information to charge nurse/supervisor/manager in a timely manner.Documents accurately and timely according to guidelines.Writes legibly.Maintains a clear, neat and safe environment for patients and staff.Insures supplies and equipment for patient care are readily available and organized in an efficient manner.Correctly identifies and uses appropriately personal protective equipment.Seeks information/guidance from others as needed.Consistently uses skilled communication which demonstrates congruence between words and actions and holds others accountable for doing the same.Delegates appropriately tasks and duties to other members of the health care team.Performs accurate ongoing assessment of patient status.Effectively plans inventions, evaluates response and reassesses plan of care. Documents response on the care plan.Effectively role models professional behavior.Ensures continuity of professional care.Demonstrates appropriate interpersonal skills for all age groups.Responds to patient and family requests promptly.Charting reflects patient problems identified in the plan of care and is timely and accurate.Monitors/administers and charts all medications prescribed.Uses patient safety techniques in the delivery of medications.Monitors/reports in a timely manner any adverse drug reactions.Safely performs IV therapy.Accurately follows policies in patient care including blood administration, specimen labeling, patient identification.QUALIFICATIONS Must be a graduate of a certified RN programPrevious experience preferred but not required.Licenses/ certificatesLicense to practice in the state of ArkansasCurrent BLSCurrent ACLS and PALS certification or obtained within introductory periodCurrent TNCC certification or obtained within two years of hireCurrent CPI within 30 days of hire.Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Must be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat and kneel.Must posses visual acuity.NOTE:The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the person assigned to this job.
