Total of 37 beds. The Pulmonary Unit provides care to patients with general medical conditions and patients with respiratory illnesses. The 4100/4200 Units specialize in the care of respiratory and general medical issues. This unit has the capacity to care for ventilator patients and telemetry monitoring, as well as other high-acuity respiratory conditions.STATUS: Full TimeLOCATION: Unity HospitalDEPARTMENT: The Pulmonary UnitSCHEDULE: Day/Evening- 7a-7p, every other Weekend/HolidayAwards & Recognition

ATTRIBUTES
  • Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Registered Nurse license in New York State.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • 1+ years of critical care RN experience preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Patient Satisfaction. Solicit and respond to patient feedback to improve service and processes that will enhance the patient experience
  • Medication Administration & Reporting. Administer medication and give/receive relevant reports, both written and verbal
  • Documentation. Ensure concise, pertinent and complete patient care documentation using computerized medical record process
EducationAS: Nursing (Required)Licenses / CertificationsBLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)Physical RequirementsM - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.
