Job Summary and Qualifications

The Review Nurse Clinical Reviewer position encompasses multiple responsibilities including Core Measure chart abstraction, Stroke & STEMI chart review and coordination; performs concurrent chart reviews & is proactive in working with departments on timely corrective actions. Educates staff and physicians on Core Measures and documentation requirements. Develops reports. Will assist in assigned functions and/or reviews, as delegated by the Administrative Quality/PS/RM Director. This is NOT A REMOTE position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports quality clinical process improvement teams as needed to achieve quality and performance improvement goals.
  • Rounds on units in the facility to strengthen and promote relationships between staff and the Quality Department.
  • Promotes a positive culture that values individual strengths, takes risks, and is committed to optimal patient care and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Facilitates the growth of hospital knowledge regarding quality and high reliability, including disseminating and implementing best practices across the facility.
  • Performs regular analysis of facility quality performance data and plans steps based on data analysis for ongoing improvement.
  • Assists with proactive patient safety activities to help create facilities that are high-reliability organizations, as reflected in reduced errors, elimination of unsafe processes, and increased involvement of staff and physicians in a culture of safety.
  • Proficient in the use of Meditech and able to utilize it for reporting, abstraction, and trending purposes.
  • Participates in and coordinates activities for Performance Improvement committees, including meeting preparation, setting agendas, writing minutes, and following up with action items.

What qualifications you will need:

  • BSN preferred, prefer at least one year of experience
  • At least one year of RN experience
  • Executes quality projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to analyze, trend, and implement process improvement tactics to achieve quality goals.

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, Microsoft, Word, Excel, and other database and presentation software applications.

  • Interpersonal and public speaking skills to communicate effectively with physicians and hospital staff.

  • Able to facilitate meetings and focus groups, either in person or via WebEx, to communicate with and disseminate information to key stakeholders specific to projects.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills in both written and verbal formats.

  • Ability to multi-task, manage attention to detail and utilize problem-solving methodology.
