Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Rapid Response for our facility to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. Rapid Responders are collaborative members of the health care team who deliver nursing and collaborative medical aspects of care to specific populations within the scope of care delineated by the licensing board, and professional standards of care. Rapid Responders collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners and interdisciplinary team members to review the plan of care, intervene when necessary to ensure adequate delivery of quality, cost-effective care and maintain continuity of care through appropriate referral and follow-up.

What You Will Do In Your Role:

• You will respond to all Rapid Response Calls, Code Blue and Code Neuro
• You will communicate daily with each charge Nurse to identify high risk patients
• You will assess all “at risk” patients as identified by MEWS score increases
• You will facilitate with training of StaRN learning and serve as a resource
• You will lead and facilitate Rapid Response / Code Blue Committee

What qualifications you will need:

• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing is required
• Bachelor's Degree (or in a Bachelor's program to be completed in 2 years)
• Certification preferred, required after six months completion in position, Examples: CCRN, CEN or CNRN
• 2 years of RN ICU experience in an acute care setting preferred
• Current BLS & ACLS Certifications (American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS Certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross), after 6 months in position
