Registered Nurse - Recovery - Unit: Preop/PACU - # Beds: Preop 10 beds; PACU 4 beds - Phase 1 and Phase 2?: Yes - Nurse: Patient Ratios: Preop 1:1 for admit or up to 5 for discharges; PACU 1:2, unless airway (then 1:1) - Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS - Common Cases: Ortho heavy (2 ortho rooms per day), hips/knees/shoulders, ortho spine, TLIF, hernias, lap chole, OB, GYN, hysteroscopy, hysterectomy, urology, cysto, prostate, ENT (2 times per month, peds case), tubes/ tonsils/adenoids, endo - Experience or 'Must have' skills: Well-rounded nurse. Knowledgeable on rhythms. Good critical care skills. - EMR: Meditech - Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Charge nurse for both PACU and outpatient. Typically no patient assignment. Coordinator available as needed (no house supervisor). - Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: No, may in the near future. - RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc.): No vents - patients on vents go straight to the ICU. - ICU patients - do they recover in PACU?: No - RNs read strips?: Yes SIGN ON BONUS!!
