Job Description:

This position is created in the context of a funded research project aimed at addressing health disparities and improving diabetes management through innovative and culturally sensitive educational interventions. The Research Nurse (RN) - Diabetes Educator will work with the Research Institute to achieve the goals and objectives of this project. The RN will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive diabetes education programs tailored to the cultural and linguistic needs of our diverse patient population. Additionally, the RN will engage in research activities to evaluate the effectiveness of these educational interventions and contribute to the body of knowledge on diabetes management. Role and Responsibilities The Research Nurse - Diabetes Educator will: Develop and Implement Educational Programs: Create comprehensive diabetes education programs tailored to the cultural and linguistic needs of our diverse patient population. Conduct Research: Engage in research activities to evaluate the effectiveness of educational interventions and contribute to the body of knowledge on diabetes management. Support JC Standards: Ensure compliance with Joint Commission (JC) standards on health disparities by providing equitable and accessible education. Community Outreach: Collaborate with community organizations to extend educational efforts beyond the clinical setting, fostering a supportive environment for diabetes management. Addressing Health Disparities This position will directly support JC standards on health disparities by: Bilingual Education: Offering diabetes education in multiple languages to ensure comprehension and engagement among non-English speaking patients. Culturally Appropriate Materials: Developing educational materials that respect and incorporate cultural beliefs and practices, enhancing relevance and acceptance. Equitable Access: Ensuring that all patients, regardless of background, have access to high-quality diabetes education and resources. Requirements: 2-4 years of experience with a BA/BS or MS preferred. Current RN license. A minimum of two years# experience working in clinical research preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with patients, medical staff, and reporting research findings. Experience with Word and Excel is required. Experience with statistical software (e.g., SPSS or JASP) and online databases (such as RedCap) is a plus. Familiarity with diabetes education and culturally sensitive healthcare practices is also a plus. This role is pivotal in advancing our mission to reduce health disparities and enhance diabetes management through bilingual and culturally appropriate education. Pay range:#$70.00-$75.00 per hour.

Amazing opportunity for ground breaking research! This position is created in the context of a funded research project titled Biomarkers of thalamic Low Intensity Focused Ultrasound Pulsation (LIFUP) in Chronic Disorder of Consciousness .

The Research Nurse (RN) will work with the Research Institute to reach the goals and objectives of a specific research project. The RN will work on patients' recruitment, consenting, and scheduling but also data collection, encoding and maintenance. The RN will be the liaison between the hospital, the patients' families and the research team. The RN will perform behavioral assessment and electrophysiological recordings (for which training will be provided).

Requirements: 2-4 yrs experience with BA/BS or MS preferred. Current RN license. A minimum of two years' experience working in clinical research preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with patients, medical staff and reporting research findings. Experience with Word and Excel is required. Experience with statistical software (e.g., SPSS or JASP) and online databases (such as RedCap) is a plus. Familiarity with neuroimaging and electrophysiology is also a plus
