Registered NurseJob Description:This is a professional nursing position with primary orientation in the physical and psychosocial health care of individuals. This position performs as a staff nurse in the Clinical Services Unit. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold a current license as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.Provide medication training and support services to individuals receiving medication management through the clinic.Meet with established patients to obtain weight and vitals, assess level of functioning, discuss reported medical conditions, assess medication efficacy, address medication side effects, and discuss recovery approaches.Complete forms and assessments at intake as well as within required timeframes.Complete authorizations for prescribed medications with appropriate insurance company.Assist the patient in identifying treatment needs and other identified areas on their specific treatment plan that will be finalized once seen by the doctor.Complete a follow up appointment with each patient following their next scheduled psychiatric appointment. Follow up appointments will involve all the above duties.Provide timely oral and written communication to staff psychiatrist and program director as needed to coordinate consumer care.Ensure that required documentation is completed in accordance with federal, state, agency, program and managed care standards.Work with clinical therapists, case managers, and outside providers to provide consumer support services.Participate in and comply with all CSU state and agency and program training requirements.Provide back-up coverage to other clinic RNs assigned to psychiatric med checks by the on-site doctor(s). This would involve taking vital signs, calling patients back who call with problems or questions, monitoring medication efficacy side effects of medication, and education on proper nutrition, diagnosis, sleep hygiene, and physical activity. Other activities may also include monitoring a patients' blood work, calling pharmacies with prescribed meds and dispensing prescribed medication samples and/or injectable medications.Perform other related duties as required.Requirements for the Position:Graduation from an approved school of professional nursing.Necessary special requirement:Possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing; or possession of a non-renewable temporary practice permit issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.Condition of Employment:Employees possessing non-renewable temporary practice permits must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period as defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.Work Schedule:Daytime, Monday-FridayOn occasion, staff may need to work hours outside of the set work week to complete projects, meet work demands or in the event of an emergency.Salary & Benefits:$43,971This position includes excellent benefits!
