Registered Nurse (RN) Brooklyn, NY Days/Hours: 4 10 hour shifts M-F between the hours of 7-7 with a rotating day offWhy Join Us? - Administer chemotherapeutic and biologic agents, as well as supportive
- care medications as prescribed by a physician
- Recognize and treat cancer-related and treatment-related issues.
- Monitor and chart vital signs, document in the medication administration
- Record
- Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise and
- knowledge
- Participate in cancer research trials, administering medications per
- protocol
- Provide supportive resources to patients and caregivers to promote health
- and wellness
- Teach patients and caregivers families regarding treatment expectations.
- Monitor patient status during the administration of chemotherapy,
- immunotherapy and supportive medications.
- Chart the patient's response to treatment and medication.
- Educate patients and caregivers about follow up care and emergency
We require:
- Valid New York State RN License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
- Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate
- PPE when administering cytotoxic agents and handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Reliable transportation to travel to NYCBS locations for patient care needs
