Summary:The Program Director of Magnet and Nursing Recognition is responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with Magnet Program designation requirements across Children's Health System of Texas, while also managing and enhancing nursing recognition programs to promote nurse engagement and a healthy work environment. This role involves coordinating the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet application, designation, and re-designation processes, and promoting evidence-based practices, clinical innovation, and evaluation of patient care outcomes to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. The Program Director collaborates closely with senior nursing leadership, nurse managers, clinical nurses, and interprofessional teams to support the culture of nursing excellence, ensuring that all initiatives are aligned with both Magnet standards and organizational goals related to nursing recognition and professional development.

Responsibilities:* Provide strategic guidance and oversight to ensure the organization meets all Magnet designation and re-designation requirements. This includes coordinating the Magnet Steering Committee, Magnet Ambassadors, and sub-groups; facilitating monthly meetings; and overseeing activities and projects that support Magnet standards, such as the Nursing Annual Report and hospital events.* Plan, organize, and guide ongoing Magnet program, nurse's week/month, and pediatric nurse's week activities, ensuring alignment with the Professional Practice Model and nursing goals.* Plans, organizes, and supports all activities that enhance the professional practice of nurses, including oversight of the nurse to nurse peer evaluation process and professional nursing certification.* Collaborates, plans, organizes and supports all activities designed to maintain Magnet Recognition status for the organization, including oversight of data, trending and analysis with coordination of planning for performance improvement; collecting and compiling sources of evidence, and communicating pertinent information related to the program.* Serves as mentor to staff to begin their development of establishing professional practices and accountability.* Collaborates with nursing leadership to develop, implement and evaluate achievement of nursing goals in order to sustain Magnet designation.* Maintains current knowledge of Magnet designation requirements and process, assisting and overseeing ongoing incorporation of new requirements into Children's Health standards and practice in collaboration with nursing leadership.* Collects, prepares and submits written documentation in fulfillment of Magnet designation timeline and requirements and prepares nurses and nurse leaders for Magnet site visits.* Attends the Annual Magnet Conference. Plans attendance and involvement with VP Nursing Excellence and CNE/CNOs.* Serves as coordinator of the Nurse satisfaction survey; monitors survey results and areas at risk; works with managers to develop appropriate action plans* Understands and supports Nursing Professional Governance and integrates into Magnet culture.* Maintains deep understanding of subject matter related to Healthy Work Environment Standards and implements projects that foster a culture of meaningful nursing recognition.* Maintains oversight of the Clinical Nurse Achievement/Clinical Nurse Ladder Program, DAISY Recognition Program, and works closely with clinical nurses and leaders to support quality nominations for Nursing Excellence awards, D Magazine, DFW Great 100, other community and/or national awards.* Continually evaluates and optimizes existing nursing recognition and achievement programs to ensure programmatic key performance indicators are achieved, and identify new opportunities for enterprise nursing recognition aligned to nursing strategic priorities.* Interacts with senior nursing leadership, administration, management, caregivers, ancillary staff, coworkers, vendors, and external agencies to plan, develop, and execute nursing celebrations, events, and other recognition projects as assigned.* Oversees Nursing Grand Rounds to support recognition and facilitate the dissemination of new knowledge and evidence-based practices throughout our organization.* Participates in hospital committees, councils and assists with additional duties as assigned.

How You'll Be Successful:

WORK EXPERIENCE* At least 5 years Nursing experience Required* At least 4 years Leadership experience (including both direct management and/or clinical educator experience) Required* At least 3 years Related experience (Nurse engagement, professional governance, quality or performance improvement, evidence-based practice, research, project management, event planning, etc.) RequiredEDUCATION* Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Bachelor of Science in Nursing Required* Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience Master of Science (Nursing) Required* PhD (Nursing) or DNP PreferredLICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS* Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas (or current valid Compact RN license) Upon Hire Required* American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) recognized certification Upon Hire Preferred
