Duties Include:
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
- Analyze assessment data, create a plan of care, implement treatment, and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
- Administer medications safely in accordance with Inova hospital policies and procedures.
- Serve as the point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement in the department as a patient safety advocate.
- Incorporate the professional practice model into care delivery.
- Display a courteous attitude and respect for all residents, families, and staff.
- Coordinate, oversee, and provide resident-related care.
- Administer medications and/or treatments per physician's orders and monitor effectiveness.
- Manage medications, supplies, and equipment including ordering, receiving, storing, and disposing of all items in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Document care using computerized medication administration and charting software.
- Notify Clinical Manager, attending physicians, and family members of significant changes in a resident's condition, and take follow-up action as necessary.
- Monitor nursing personnel on duty during the assigned shift.
- Perform additional tasks as needed.
RequirementsWhat You Will Need:
- Must have passed the New York State Nursing Licensure Examination (NCLEX).
- At least an Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Current BLS from the American Heart Association.
- Professional Resume.
