Duties Include:
  • Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Analyze assessment data, create a plan of care, implement treatment, and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
  • Administer medications safely in accordance with Inova hospital policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement in the department as a patient safety advocate.
  • Incorporate the professional practice model into care delivery.
  • Display a courteous attitude and respect for all residents, families, and staff.
  • Coordinate, oversee, and provide resident-related care.
  • Administer medications and/or treatments per physician's orders and monitor effectiveness.
  • Manage medications, supplies, and equipment including ordering, receiving, storing, and disposing of all items in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Document care using computerized medication administration and charting software.
  • Notify Clinical Manager, attending physicians, and family members of significant changes in a resident's condition, and take follow-up action as necessary.
  • Monitor nursing personnel on duty during the assigned shift.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed.
RequirementsWhat You Will Need:
  • Must have passed the New York State Nursing Licensure Examination (NCLEX).
  • At least an Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Current BLS from the American Heart Association.
  • Professional Resume.
