North 8 is a 26-bed unit treating Bone Marrow Transplant and Hematology and Oncology patients.The patients have a general diagnosis of leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, sickle cell disease, solid tumor cancers, immune disorders, palliative care, and other hematologic malignancies. All disease related care for these case types is performed on the unit, including blood product support and administration of chemotherapy. The unit provides care for allogenic bone marrow transplants (including CAR-T therapy, umbilical cord blood transplant, matched unrelated donors and Haplo donors) and autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplant patients. The unit participates in infusional therapy for clinical trials as they relate to inpatient status. Patients receive Bipap, Cpap, High flow O2, telemetry, negative pressure dressings, specialty beds, PCA therapy.

The professional registerednurse possesses andapplies the skills and knowledge necessary for the delivery and management of patient care from admission through discharge. The professional registered nurse is knowledgeable of current trends in healthcare including but not limited to advances in technology, pharmacology, treatment care modalities, quality and patient safety. The professional registered nurse serves as a patient and family advocatewhile facilitating acooperative and collaborative environment among all health care providers. The professional registered nurse is responsible for the planning, delivery and management of patient/family centeredcare utilizing thenursing process and adhering to the standards of nursing practice embedded inresearch, evidencebased practice and/or best practices. The professional registered nurse at Tufts MedicalCenter provides clinicalexcellence, which fosters and supports an environment central to our patient and family centered model of care.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Registered Nurse (RN) license.
2. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
