POSITION: Registered Nurse (RN) (8am - 8pm Monday - Friday) Alternating Saturdays and Sundays.REPORTS TO: DOPS/Registered NursePOSTION SUMMARY:The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care and services to clients in their place of residence/facility in accordance with the agency's policies and procedures and under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse.Benefits for the Registered Nurse (RN)Up to $47/hr.Higher Pay Rate for Night ShiftsFree Education CoursesFlexible Assignment to fit your NeedsCompetitive SalaryPaid Time OffHealth Coverage BenefitsEmployee Reward SystemQUALIFICATIONS OF THE REGISTERED NURSE (RN):Graduate of an approved RNNYS Licensed and currently registered as a Registered NurseMUST have previous Home Health or Long-term Care experienceMUST hold a current CPR CertificationAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.Ability to perform mathematical operations as related to medication calculations, units of American money and weight measurements, volume, and distance.Good organizational writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.CONTACT OF THE REGISTERED NURSE (RN):Clients/clients' families - Care issues, provide direct client careRN/DOPS - Receive direction and supervisionEQUIPMENT OPERATION OF THE REGISTERED NURSE (RN)Durable medical equipment and nursing equipment.CLINICAL SERVICES OF THE REGISTERED NURSE (RN) OR LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN)Follow a designated care plan in accordance with patients needsPerform assigned duties. Including administration of medication, wound care, treatments, and proceduresMonitor clients' conditions; reporting changes to our RNProvides care to clients in accordance with NYS Practice ActImplements medical orders and established plans of careFollows agency policy and proceduresAdministers medications (oral, IM, SQ, Topical)Performs wound care/dressing adhering to sterile techniqueObtains information from the client regarding complaints, status of illness, problems obtaining services from other sources, problems with supplies and equipment, communication to the DHC as appropriatePerforms medication review and accountabilityPerforms catheter carePerforms enteral feedingPerforms ostomy careAssists the physician and/or Registered Professional Nurse in performing specialized proceduresEvaluates the appropriateness, cleanliness, and safety of durable medical equipment, supplies, and or appliances.Assists the client in learning appropriate self-care techniquesMay perform aide supervision, as directedDocuments visits, notes and progress notes to reflect services/client activitiesCommunicates with other members of the health care teamCUSTOMER SERVICE/INTERPERSONAL SKILL1.
