The PCU RN works as a member of a healthcare team in a hospital setting, and is responsible for:Assessing, planning, and implementing patient care, taking into account the patient's age, medical history, and current condition.Administering medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed by a physician, and monitoring the patient's response to these interventions.Monitoring and recording vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and breathing patterns, and reporting any changes to the physician.Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, such as physicians, respiratory therapists, and physical therapists, to ensure that the patient's care plan is coordinated and effective.Educating patients and families about their health conditions, treatments, and self-care strategies.Responding to emergency situations, such as cardiac arrest or respiratory distress, and initiating appropriate interventions.Maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality, and ensuring that all patient care is provided in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.The PCU RN must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment. A bachelor's degree in nursing and a current registered nurse (RN) license are required, and prior experience in progressive care or critical care is preferred.This is a not full time but contracted travel position.
