Med Plus Staffing is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team to work in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for supervising nursing personnel to deliver nursing-coordinated care delivery, which will ensure that patient's needs are met in accordance with professional standards of practice through physician orders, center policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local guidelines. Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate patient care in accordance with Professional Standards of Practice, abiding physician orders, federal, state local and facility policies and procedures.
- Effectively communicate verbally and in documentation with all health care team members.
- Record patients' medical histories, symptoms, and treatment plans.
- Perform nursing assessments and collaborate with staff to develop effective plans of care.
- Establish realistic, measurable short and long-term patient goals with interventions put in place as needs arise to minimize rehospitalizations and continued evaluations of outcomes.
- Assist staff with answering patient call lights, answering telephones, passing meal trays, and transporting residents.
- Identify and support patient and family needs for health education. Follow up with appropriate teaching strategies.
- Prepare and administer patients' medications and treatments per health care provider's orders and in accordance with federal, state, local, and facility policies and procedures.
- Monitor and record changes in patient physical and/or mental status, signs & symptoms of condition recovery, deterioration, or adverse effects.
- Communicate and delegate patient care to assigned staff. Supervise, ensuring implementation of tasks and interventions.
- Care for patients, staff, and self by supporting and promoting a culture of safety in the workplace and complying with Infection Control Procedures.
- Recognize hazards, report and investigate incidents in a timely manner in accordance with facility policies.
Qualifications:
- Strong clinical skills and ability to react decisively in emergency situations.
- Impeccable verbal and written communication skills.
- Both experienced and newly certified Nursing Assistants are encouraged to apply.
The Following Credentials Are Required:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Valid CPR/BLS Certification
- Current TB Testing Documentation
- Current Physical Examination
