Job Description:

A Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing specialized care to patients with chronic and acute wounds. They play a crucial role in the healing and management of these wounds, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care. Key responsibilities of a Wound Care RN may include: Assessing patients' wounds and developing individualized care plans to manage the healing process. Administering wound care treatments, such as wound dressings, debridement, and topical wound treatments. Monitoring patients' wounds for signs of infection and taking appropriate action to prevent and manage infections. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, physical therapists, and dietitians, to provide comprehensive care for patients. Educating patients and their families about wound care and management, and providing ongoing support to ensure patient comfort and compliance with care plans. Documenting patient progress and maintaining accurate medical records. Participating in continuous quality improvement initiatives to promote the best practices in wound care. Qualifications for this position typically include: Active RN license. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing or related field. At least 2 years of experience in clinical nursing, with a focus on wound care. Wound Care certification, such as Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN). Strong knowledge of wound care best practices, including the latest advancements in wound care treatments and technologies. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This is a not full time but contracted travel position.
