Duties Description DESCRIPTION:The Registered Nurse Supervisor1 (RNS1) is responsible for clinical and administrative supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs) and LicensedPractical Nurses (LPNs), as well as oversight and coordination of nursing areas within their assigned area. This incumbent will be assignedcoverage in the high demand area of the Orange County. This person will have a key role in supporting the opening of the ComprehensiveAdult Transition Homes (CATH) and overseeing the nursing care that will be delivered to high needs and complex individuals supported inthese homes.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supports the RN1s and LPNs with oversight of this growing staff. Maintains expert current knowledge of nursing policies, processes, standards, laws, rules, and regulations. Provides consultation and assistance to the residential teams to properly apply those standards to improve service delivery outcomes. Provides training and technical assistance when necessary. Assists in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), in accordance with regulatory and policy standards. Provides ongoing monitoring of service delivery documentation. May be asked to cover Day Program Sites. Provide clinical and administrative supervision. Evaluates program needs, processes, effectiveness, trends, and outcomes. Provides coverage for Westchester and Rockland counties of the Hudson Valley. May be trained to provide CPR training and certification to providers and sub-providers. Other duties as assigned. Additional Comments *Please note, the posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate, PS&T Grade 22 ($79,928) along with any special salary treatments in effect for this position in these locations, such as Geographic Pay Differential ($35,000), Increased Hiring Rate ($10,536), and annual Downstate adjustment ($3,400) for Westchester County. HELPS Program titles may be filled via a non-competitive appointment. This means that you do not need to take an exam to qualify, but you do need to meet the minimum qualifications of the title.At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), employees hired under NY HELPS are expected to have their permanent non competitive employment status converted to permanent competitive status. You will not have to take an exam to gain permanent competitive status. Please note that starting salary for this title reflects the increased hiring salary and geographic pay differential. Posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 18 ($65,001), Increased Hiring Salary ($8,928), Geographic Differential ($35,000), and Mid Hudson Adjustment ($1,650). Geographic Differential and Mid-Hudson Adjustment added to the job rate ($82,656) for PS&T Grade 18. If you are currently a New York State employee serving in a permanent competitive qualifying title and eligible for a transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law, you may be appointed to this title as a permanent competitive employee. The assignment of PS&T employees will be made in accordance with any agreed upon Memorandum of Understanding between PEF and the local DDSO regarding the posting of job vacancies.
