Job Type Full-timeDescriptionGENERAL SUMMARYThe Registered Nurse Supervisor is a working supervisor, overseeing the clinical team members within the ambulatory setting. As a supervisor, this position coordinates, assigns and guides the work activities of the RN staff. This position monitors work schedules, maintains department scheduling guidelines, leads nursing practice oversight, and trains and mentors new staff.RequirementsESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/COMPETENCIESResponsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensures that patients' needs are met and evaluates nursing care and performance.
- Monitors patient recordkeeping activities for accuracy, completion and compliance with all regulations.
- Creates and implements nursing policies to foster a positive and organized work environment.
- Maintains knowledge of current trends in nursing and ambulatory care and educating teams.
- Provides a direct line of communication between patients, nursing staff and physicians.
- Supervises, directs, and delegates patient care assignments to staff based on acuteness of staff availability, patient care needs and safety.
- Collaborates with the manager on areas of need in the department (e.g., problematic flow issues, equipment and supplies issues, documentation issues, patient satisfaction issues and performance issues).
- Performs other position related duties as assigned.
- Employees shall adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and will comply with and assist in complying with all applicable laws and regulations. This will include and not be limited to following the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures; maintaining the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); immediately reporting any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department; and the timely completion the Annual Compliance Training.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURES OR REGISTRY REQUIREMENTS
- RN license and certification as required by state.
- BLS certification required. ACLS preferred.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. BSN preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 3 years' RN experience in a clinic setting required, supervisor experience preferred.
