M-F, 8a-4:30p, 40 hours a week

Overview:

Mercy Fort Smith Orthopedics Surgery Center is a 24-room surgery center that provides ambulatory surgery, pre & post operative services, and rehabilitation. This role provides direct patient care to infant through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the perioperative environment. Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition. Assists with maintenance of PACU equipment and inventory.

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program

  • Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

  • Experience: Must have a minimum of 1 years of RN experience.

  • Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
