Job Description:

Description

Provides outpatient nursing care and patient education/assistance by assessing patient medical needs, administering treatments, recording medical condition for medical provider review and other duties associated with daily operations of the Urgent Care clinic.

Duties

* Performs triage for walk in patients.

* Assures best possible patient flow through clinic process.

* Observes and records patients symptoms, assesses medical need for attention, severity and determines necessary lab data to obtain prior to being seen by provider.

* Gathers vital signs, medical history, surgical history, and current medication list for patients and documents in EHR.

* Collects and prepares laboratory specimens for send out and executes in-house point of care lab testing.

* Administers medication and treatments to patients, includes injections, immunizations per orders, documents appropriately in EHR and instructs patients on follow-up procedures.

* Utilizing clinical judgement, assists patients via telephone to follow up on their recovery, provides nursing care with reported illness or wound and assists with scheduling/rescheduling appts.

* Instructs patients and their families in health and wellness education, disease prevention and treatment, nutrition, child care and home related specific to care plan.

* Provides training and guidance to the clinical, non-provider staff who are providing direct patient care under the supervision of the provider staff, in accordance with clinic policies and procedures.

* Coordinates with Supervisor to maintain inventory levels of medical supplies and clinic medications, and monitors for outdates.

* Coordinates with Supervisor to ensure all medical equipment is maintained for safe effective use.

* Insures that the medical clinic meets standards for state certifications and will pass state inspections. This includes proper management of all medications, maintenance of equipment, and handling, storage and elimination of hazardous waste and toxic chemicals.

Requirements

* Associate's degree or diploma in nursing

* Valid State of Arizona Registered Nurse License in good standing

* Three years of clinical nursing experience or a equivalent combination of education and experience

* Urgent Care of Emergency Department experience

* Working knowledge of computers and electronic health records system

* ACLS certification

Compensation

Starting at $30.77/hr+ DOE
