A health services organization on Long Island is actively seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to their join their growing team in Nassau County. About the Opportunity:
- Start: ASAP
- Setting: Clinic
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: Monday - Friday 2-10 pm and Saturday 9am - 1pm
Responsibilities: The Registered Nurse (RN) will:
- Provide general nursing care to patients, including: administering prescribed medications and treatments
- Assist with applicant screening, selection, training, providing feedback for performance evaluations, and providing information related to employee discipline and termination of staff
- Prepare equipment and aid the Physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients
- Prepare prescriptions or medication refills, for review and signature by provider
- Contact patients with test results and provide recommendations on cases per Physician determination and/or standards of care
- Facilitate clinical messages and chronic condition management education to patients
- Triage urgent same day or double booked appointment requests
- Document progress notes in electronic health record within 24 hours
- Manage in-basket requests and responds to all requests in a timely manner
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of related Nursing experience in Ambulatory and/or Hospital setting
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Gastro / GI experience or experience in an Operating Room, PACU, and/or Medical-Surgical setting
- Knowledge of Medical Chart Reporting
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Patient oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Nursing
- Experience in a Cardiology and/or similar setting
- Working knowledge of Epic EMRs
