General DescriptionUnder general supervision, this role provides professional nursing care to a diverse patient population in a hospital setting, addressing health issues ranging from simple to complex. The position requires the ability to perform a variety of nursing duties, maintain effective communication, and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Essential ResponsibilitiesThe core responsibilities for this position include:
Patient Care:- Manage and provide care for an assigned group of patients.
- Monitor and document patient responses to interventions and treatments.
- Recognize and address changes in patient conditions and physician orders.
Support to Physicians:- Assist during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
- Facilitate prescribed treatments and interventions.
Data Monitoring:- Obtain and evaluate patient physiological data.
- Administer medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products.
Communication & Education:- Engage with patients and families to communicate care plans.
- Provide discharge planning and educate patients and families about hospital procedures.
Collaboration:- Coordinate patient care needs with appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks effectively to support staff.
Compliance:- Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and standards.
General Responsibilities- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Strong planning, coordination, and evaluation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Proficient in verbal and written communication.
- Responsive to cultural and language diversity among patients and visitors.
- Basic computer skills.
Education RequirementsRequired:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a board-approved program or higher degree.
Certifications & LicensureRequired:
- Active RN License (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact RN License [eNLC]).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Oncology certifications:
- Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration (ONS).
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate.
Education: Bachelors Degree
